I am Associate Professor and AT&T Scholar in the Department of Media and Information at Michigan State University’s College of Communication Arts and Sciences. I am also (temporarily) a Visiting Research Fellow with the NTU Institute for Science and Technology for Humanity in Singapore, working at the WKW School of Communication and Information
I am also affiliate faculty in MSU’s Education Psychology and Education Technology Program and the Department of Psychology as well as a core faculty member for MSU’s Center for Gender in Global Context. I am also affiliated with MSU’s GEL lab and Serious Games program as well as the Meaningful Play conference.
My PhD is from the Annenberg School for Communication (USC) . I have an MA in Communication and a BA in Science, Technology and Society (with a minor in Creative Writing: Poetry), both from Stanford University.
