Together with Florian Primig, Arianna Bussoletti, Jun Liu, and Yu Sun, we've planned the next iteration of our workshop series for young and early career scholars!
This time: Challenges & Resources in a Fast-Changing World (Online)
What is it really like to start an academic career and pursue a PhD today? This session brings together early career researchers and students for an honest and supportive conversation about academic life, wellbeing, and professional development.
Keynote speakers include:
Dr. Daniel Baker, historian of Modern France, who will offer a candid and engaging reflection on the challenges of pursuing a PhD, combining scholarly insight with practical experience from leading professional development initiatives worldwide.
Alba Diez-Gracia, Professor of Journalism at the University of Valladolid and Vice-Chair of ECREA's Young Scholars Network, will share perspectives on research careers, digital communication, and navigating contemporary academic environments.
The session will address mental wellbeing, resilience, available resources for ECRs, and practical support, followed by a Q&A.
25 February 2026 | 10:00–11:30 CET | Zoom
