    Panel presentation:

As research challenges grow increasingly complex, interdisciplinary collaboration has become essential for addressing them effectively. This session will explore best practices for implementing interdisciplinarity in research environments. It will focus on strategies for building successful interdisciplinary teams, overcoming institutional barriers, and integrating diverse methodologies. Researchers, administrators, and policymakers will provide but also gain insights into fostering collaboration across disciplines and creating the conditions for impactful interdisciplinary research.

The long-term objective of the panel is to contribute to the (collective) writing of a "white paper" or guide on best practices for successful implementation of interdisciplinarity in research, with a special focus on Humanities and Social Sciences.

The panel will ideally include 4 to 5 brief, structured and formal presentations of actionable methods, tools and strategies for fostering and managing interdisciplinary research collaborations and integration, navigating institutional and structural barriers to interdisciplinary work, with a special focus in Humanities and Social Sciences. A moderated discussion and audience Q&A will follow.

Examples of topics that could be covered in the panel session (the list is not exhaustive):
1/ Building and Managing Interdisciplinary Research Teams:
Best practices for assembling teams of researchers with diverse backgrounds and expertise.
How to ensure productive collaboration through effective communication, goal alignment, and shared methodologies.
Addressing the common challenges of interdisciplinary team dynamics, including varying terminologies, methodologies, and approaches to problem-solving.
2/ Institutional and Structural Support for Interdisciplinary Research:
How universities and research institutions can provide the necessary support for interdisciplinary projects.
The role of funding agencies in encouraging interdisciplinary work.
Strategies for gaining institutional buy-in and breaking down academic silos.
    3/ Methodological Integration:
Navigating the challenges of integrating different research methods, such as qualitative and quantitative approaches, or experimental and theoretical frameworks.
Examples of tools and technologies that facilitate interdisciplinary research collaboration.
4/ Interdisciplinary Research Outcomes and Impact:
How to measure the success of interdisciplinary research projects.
Strategies for disseminating research findings to diverse audiences, including academia, industry, and policymakers.
Case studies of successful interdisciplinary projects and their broader societal impact.

    Objectives:
Examine the key elements that contribute to successful interdisciplinary research projects.
Provide practical strategies for facilitating collaboration across disciplines, including humanities, social sciences, and STEM fields.
Share models and case studies of successful interdisciplinary research initiatives.
Address the challenges and rewards of interdisciplinary funding, project management, and dissemination of results.
The long-term objective of the panel is to contribute to the (collective) writing of a white paper or guide on best practices for successful implementation of interdisciplinarity in research, with a special focus on Humanities and Social Sciences.
