The pre-conference on the Global Fact-Checking Movement convenes research on fact-checking practices and organizations around the world, with an emphasis on regional and comparative work, as well as studies of the wider global movement. Themes highlighted include fact-checking standards, values and practices; institutionalization and governance in the field; and the influence of stakeholders including platform companies, transnational institutions, and governments.
We invite scholars to submit extended abstracts of one or two pages (roughly 400-800 words) outlining a proposed paper or presentation by the 20th January to globalfactchecking@gmail.com.
For a more detailed call for abstracts and further information, visit our pre-conference website: https://globalfactchecking.wordpress.com
