Each accepted article is published in English AND German to spark more international cross-fertilization on journalism research. The journal takes care of the translations.
Articles featuring research using a wide range of methods are welcome: from critical-hermeneutical to qualitative and quantitative methods; research on journalism history is very welcome as another focus is highlighting topics beyond current debates.
The German-English journal was established in 2018 by an inaugural team of editors to offer a different model of publishing studies, essays, and book reviews related journalism studies. The journal is published by the academic Herbert von Halem Publishing House in Germany.
One of the core ideas of the journal is to provide a peer-review process that is rigorous but not anonymous. The team of editors reviews each submitted manuscript, discusses it, decides about publishing, and provides timely feedback to submitting authors.
Journalism Research / Journalistik is published three times a year, online: spring, summer, and winter. Check out the style sheet for more details on author submissions:
