Dear community,
Our amazing ICA pre-conference, "Decolonizing the Visual: Community, Memory, and Resistance," is just two weeks away - June 4 - and we still have a few tickets left for community members who would like to join us in Cape Town!
We have an incredible lineup of speakers exploring platformed imperialism and witnessing, digital memory, community archives, visual resistance, decolonial futures, synthetic imagery, and struggles over history, identity, and representation across contexts, including China, Kashmir, Colombia, Ireland, South Africa, South Korea, Fukushima, and beyond.
It's going to be a full day (10:00–16:30) of thoughtful conversations, critical vibes, and community, ending with all of us heading to the ICA reception together. The registration cost (50$) includes coffee, drinks, snacks throughout the day, and a catered lunch (our ability to accommodate additional dietary requests at this point is unfortunately quite limited, though we'll absolutely do our best).
Here is our
program -
Hope to see you!
