    Dear Colleagues in Communication research,

in the light of upcoming international Woman's Day on 8th of March, I write to you all to reflect on women participation in science and to share the joy of our collaborative experiences via ICA in February of 2026. In the last weeks of 2025, I have shared an invitation to a conference, organised to mark the International Day of Women and Girls in Science on the 11th of February, the researchers of PSGENEQ project organised a scientific event. The conference ,,Women in Science", or simply WinS, took place on the February 11-12, 2026 at Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius, Lithuania and Online.
Having rather spontaneous organisations with very short deadlines, we had 3 keynote lectures and 33 oral presentations. The scientific committee, keynote- speakers and presents have gathered from 18 countries, more than 20 universities and 11 languages: Dutch, English, German, Italian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Nigerian Pidgin, Spanish, Swahili, Turkish, and Urdu – which are all represented in the Book of Abstracts of the conference.
We had the pleasure to have the Prime Minister of Lithuania Mrs. Inga Ruginienė as an Honorary Parton of this event and in person encouraging the researchers with her inspiring speech.
The conference was co-organized by MRU and ACEBaltic (the Association of Spanish Scientists in the Baltics), and held in collaboration with EWORA (European Women Rectors Association), the Embassy of Spain in Lithuania, and the Ramón Areces Foundation.
We connected with researchers from all over the world. Five of them have connection to ICA:
    • Prof. Dr. Lilach Nir (former member of the Executive Board of ICA),
    • Dr. Ekaete George (Chair of ICA Nigerian Chapter),
    • prof. Dr. Marius Kalinauskas,
    • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Isabel Palomo-Domínguez and
    • dr. Rūta Tamošiūnaitė, me.
We at the PSGENEQ project, and me as a member of ICA, want to THANK YOU, the ICA, for the opportunity to get in touch with insightful researchers!
Who has missed WinS this year, for the moment, we invite you to get to know our conference through the photographs https://www.winsconference.eu/wins-2026/
There will be WinS 2027 and we will be looking forward to all of you to join and create even more meaningful connections and maybe even interesting collaborations. As soon as the dates will be known, we will share information in this channel to invite you all to join.

    Best wishes,

    dr. Rūta Tamošiūnaitė
