Dear GCSC Members,
The 2027 ICA Annual Election cycle is now underway, and the Global Communication and Social Change (GCSC) Division invites nominations for one elected leadership position:
Vice Chair (2027–2031 Leadership Track)
This position carries a four-year leadership commitment:
- Vice Chair: Two-year term (from the close of ICA 2027 through ICA 2029)
- Chair: Automatically succeeds to a two-year term as Division Chair (ICA 2029–2031)
The Vice Chair works closely with the Chair to provide strategic leadership for the Division. Major responsibilities include:
- Coordinating, with the Chair, the review process for paper, panel, and other conference submissions;
- Serving as Program Planner for the ICA annual conference;
- Identifying emerging issues of interest to the Division and facilitating discussion among members;
- Supporting the Division's administrative activities, including member communications, conference planning, and other initiatives in collaboration with the officer team.

Eligibility
Candidates must:
- Be active members of ICA and the GCSC Division at the time of the election;
- Meet all ICA eligibility requirements for elected office;
- Not currently hold another elected ICA office or run for more than one elected position simultaneously;
- Not have previously served as Chair of the GCSC Division.

- Your name and institutional affiliation.
- A brief candidate statement (maximum 2,000 characters) describing your qualifications, leadership experience, and vision for the Division.
We warmly encourage self-nominations and nominations of colleagues (with their prior consent). We especially welcome candidates who reflect the diversity of ICA's membership across regions, methodological traditions, and lived experiences, consistent with GCSC's global mission.
Serving as a GCSC officer is an excellent opportunity to help shape the Division's intellectual direction, support our international community of scholars, and contribute to the continued growth of global communication and social change research.
