    We're happy to announce that the Department of Cultural Studies at Lingnan University in Hong Kong will hold a hybrid book launch on April 8, 2026 (16:00-17:30 GMT+8). We will launch two new books about Africa-China tech engagement-The Transsion Approach: Translating Chinese Mobile Technology in Africa (University of Illinois Press, 2025) and Silicon Elsewhere: Nairobi, Global China, and the Promise of Techno-Capital (University of California Press, 2026).
