Since its launch last year, the Global Media & Internet Concentration Project's Data Dashboard has become an even more powerful tool.  Supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), the project aims to make its trove of data as accessible as possible.
Designed to help researchers, policymakers, journalists, and the public explore trends in media ownership and digital platform dominance and to create customized, comparative visualizations, the dashboard is now loaded with even more data from the 36 countries covered by the project.
Covering more than 20 industry sectors - from mobile wireless, PayTV and streaming video and music services to search engines, internet advertising, app store distribution, and more - the dashboard allows you to create snapshot views, such as the top 10, 20 or 30 media companies in the world or country-by-country, or to rank the largest national media economies by revenue.  The data spans decades so you can also chart the evolution of particular industries and markets across time.

We have also produced a library of continually updated reports - available here - written by some of the foremost researchers in the field. They are widely cited in the scholarly literature and have been used, for example in the recent challenge to Paramount's bid to acquire Warner Bros Discovery by California and other state attorneys general across the United States.
Please check out these resources and do get in touch with us if you have any specific inquiries. The GMICP project lead is Dr. Dwayne Winseck (Dwayne.Winseck@carleton.ca, Carleton University, Canada).
