    Dear Colleagues,
    We are putting together an edited book proposal in the intersection of entrepreneurship and organizational communication, and we'd love to invite you to submit a chapter proposal! Check out the full call below for more details. If you have questions or want to talk through any ideas, feel free to reach out to any of us. Thank you!
    Tentative title: Entrepreneurial Organizing: Communication, Hybridity, and Transformation. Proposed edited book for "the Routledge Studies in Communication, Organization, and Organizing series" by Drs. Ziyu Long (Colorado State University), Sophia Fu (Rutgers University), and Rebecca Gill (Wake Forest University).
    Overview: The edited volume, situated at the intersection of organizational communication and entrepreneurship research, aims to showcase the breadth and depth of research on entrepreneurial organizing from communicative perspectives. Chapters will be organized into four tentative sections:
    I.   Entrepreneuring and Work: Examining the everyday work of entrepreneurs;
    II. Entrepreneuring and Constituting: Investigating the communicative accomplishment of entrepreneurial organizations;
    III. Entrepreneuring and Ecosystems: Exploring the dynamic interactions among entrepreneurial actors and entities, including institutions, networks, and systems; and
    IV. Entrepreneuring and Technology: Analyzing various roles that AI and emerging technologies play in entrepreneurial organizing.
    Timeline: We are currently seeking chapter proposals (due by Friday, February 20th). Please note that a book contract has not yet been secured, as we are in the process of preparing the book proposal for submission. We intend to communicate the chapter contribution decisions in March 2026 and submit the finalized book proposal (including confirmed chapter authors and chapter synopses) in April 2026. Accepted chapter abstracts may also be submitted as part of a panel proposal to NCA and/or ICA.
    Vision for Chapter Proposals: We are looking for chapter proposals that highlight a communicative approach (theory and method) to studying entrepreneurial organizing. Specifically, we ask chapter authors to draw from empirical research/case studies/texts of entrepreneurial organizing to advance clear and innovative arguments that address the following key questions
    Authors should be confident in being able to complete their first drafts of the chapters (approximately 6,000 words, written for an academic audience) within a 9-month turnaround timeframe (fall 2026 to spring 2027).
    Submission guidelines: Chapter proposals should be submitted as a Word Document to ziyulong@colostate.edu by Friday February 20th, 2026. Please include the following items in the proposal:
    1.      Proposed Chapter Title:
    2.      Author information: name, title, institution, email, and a brief 100-word biography that includes information about your work on entrepreneurship and (organizational) communication
    3.      Proposed Chapter Synopsis: 150-250 words. In the synopsis, please make sure to address the key questions (see the three questions listed above), and how you plan to illustrate your arguments.
    4.      Intended Section with Brief Rationale: Indicate in which section(s) you believe your chapter will fit best. Choose one or more: I.   Entrepreneuring and Work; II. Entrepreneuring and Constituting; III. Entrepreneuring and Ecosystems; IV. Entrepreneuring and Technology.
    If you have any questions or need further clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out to: Dr. Ziyu Long (ziyulong@colostate.edu). Thank you for considering this opportunity! We look forward to receiving your proposals by February 20th, 2026
    Best Regards,
    Ziyu Long, Sophia Fu, and Rebecca Gill
