OPEN CALL - Issue 41 Health Communication for Behavior Change in the Digital Context

    https://revistas.ulima.edu.pe/index.php/contratexto/announcement/view/47

    GUEST EDITORS:

The main theme of issue 41 of Contratexto will be devoted to health communication, specifically to communication for health behavior change in the digital context. The issue will bring together studies that will focus on the design, implementation or effect of messages, interventions or campaigns on people's health behavior, or on one or more of its determinants, that include a digital component within. The issue will show theory-driven studies with different methodological designs, whether observational or experimental, in any region of the world, with specific or general populations, and from any theoretical approach.

Understanding the mechanisms of influence and the conditions under which communication has a greater or lesser effect is a main objective of researchers in health communication, since the effectiveness of communication strategies depends on advances in knowledge about these aspects. This issue will show studies that advance our knowledge of health behavior change in the digital environment, in any of the following areas, without being an exhaustive list:

    • Promotion of healthy lifestyles
    • Behaviors to prevent or treat chronic diseases and cancer
    • Communication in mental health
    • Tobacco, alcohol or drug use
    • Health disparities
    • Misinformation
    • Studies among diverse populations, such as male or female children, adolescents, women, the elderly, minorities, migrants, inmates.
    • Formative evaluation, including the design of messages or communication pieces
    • Implementation of communication interventions
    • Evaluation of intervention outcomes
