The Institute for Advanced Study in the Global South at Northwestern University in Qatar is pleased to announce the call for applications for the ICA 2026 preconference!
This one-day preconference titled "Echoes and Overlaps in Arab and African Thought on Media and Culture: Forging New Directions for Research" builds on last year's ICA preconference to explore Arab–African intellectual exchange in media and culture, spotlighting non-Western epistemologies, South-to-South solidarities, and decolonial research approaches.
This preconference is jointly organized by #IAS_NUQ at Northwestern University in Qatar, in collaboration with the Centre for Film and Media Studies and Digital Media Sociology Lab at the University of Cape Town, and the Center for Media, Religion, and Culture at the University of Colorado Boulder.
