The Department of Communication at UMass Amherst, home to leading researchers in the areas of Culture and Social Interaction, Performance Studies, Film Studies, and Media Culture and Technology, invites applications for its Ph.D. program. Our program offers five years of funding for part-time assistantships in teaching and research, and includes unionized employment with health, dental, and vision insurance. We encourage applications from MA and BA students who demonstrate excellence in research. Our prominent faculty and curious students research media, technology, and social interaction at global, national, institutional, group, and interpersonal levels. Our mission is to research, teach, and do outreach rooted in an understanding of communication as the primary process through which persons, societies, and cultures are formed and changed. Our recent Ph.D. alumnae are now working in leading universities in the US and across the world.
Join us for a Zoom Info Session on Wednesday, November 6th 11:30 EDT. Email Prof Gonen Dori-Hacohen: gonen at comm.umass.edu, for the zoom link and all questions.
