Platforms and the Planet: Big Tech, Digital Platforms and Environmental Responsibility
"Platforms and the Planet: Big Tech, Digital Platforms and Environmental Responsibility" is an edited volume recently published by Emerald, edited by Salla-Maaria Laaksonen, Mervi Pantti and Olga Dovbysh. The book is part of the new Emerald series Digital Materialities and Sustainable Futures. More timely than ever, the book develops a critical understanding of the environmental responsibility and accountability of digital platforms (the so-called Big Tech), and their role in the sustainability transition as a discursive, material, and ethical question. With its 11 chapters, the book brings together a multidisciplinary group of authors across the globe.
