    Dear scholars,

Please join us at ICA on Saturday, 9-10:15 a.m. for this interactive workshop tackling the divide between communication research and practice. We've got three great scholars lined up who will be approaching the problem from different fields, and we're looking for your participation to help understand how we can bridge the divide, together!

Session Title: BLUE SKY: The Research-Practice Gap: Finding Common Ground, Sharing Ideas
    Time: Saturday, June 22, 9-10:15 a.m.
    Location: Kirra Boardroom (Star L2)
Session Notes: Scholars and practitioners have glumly noted the huge gap that lies between them in such communication fields as journalism, health communication and organizational communication, with research seeming seldom to impact practice. Efforts to study and address the gap have begun in many of these fields – but rarely do these fields converse about their efforts. In this open forum we will discuss common problems underlying the gap and brainstorm to help create solutions.
Panelists: Jeff Niederdeppe, Cornell; Benjamin Toff, Minnesota; Jeffrey Treem, Northwestern
    Chair: Tamar Wilner, Texas

Thanks and look forward to seeing you there!
    Tamar
