    If you are in or near New York City, or can make the trip, come join us on Wednesday, October 29th at the Players in Gramercy Park for a special screening of Digital Tsunami, a documentary about our current media environment from filmmaker Fred Peabody. The event is free (apart from a cash bar) and open to the public, but registration is required. For more information and to register:

    The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the director, producer, and some of the participants.

    The event is sponsored by the Institute of General Semantics, cosponsored by the New York Society for General Semantics and the Media Ecology Association.

    About the film: We are engulfed in a digital tsunami-a toxic mix of artificial intelligence, state and corporate surveillance and social media addiction controlled by powerful algorithms. DIGITAL TSUNAMI shows how these are all part of a digital ecosystem that is changing us as humans-just as the prophetic media guru Marshall McLuhan predicted 60 years ago.
