    Dear ICA Community,

We are excited to announce that the 2023 ICA Preconference/Organizational Communication Division Doctoral Consortium, titled "Developing into a Global Scholar," is now open for registration. Please feel free to register here, and spread the word to those you think might be interested.

The Preconference will be held Thursday, May 25th, 2023, 9am – 4pm in the Dufferin room at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Registration is $50. No application is required (though we will request some information from participants before meeting together).

In this preconference a diverse set of faculty mentors from around the world will interact with doctoral students to discuss issues relevant to developing a global research program. Specifically, we will address topics such as:

    1. Pursuing careers in countries other than where your current institution is located
    2. Collaborating with colleagues across institutions, locations, and countries
    3. Conducting research in diverse locations, organizations, and populations
    4. Challenges associated with publishing work in international journals
    5. Balancing the need to create both a local and global scholarly identity

Faculty mentors will include (more may be added): Nicolas Bencherki (TÉLUQ Montréal), Ganga Dhanesh (Zayed University), Janet Fulk, (University of Southern California), Kerk Kee (Texas Tech University), Chih-Hui Lai (National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University), Peter Monge (University of Southern California), and Amanda Porter (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam),

If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to Jeffrey Treem at jtreem@austin.utexas.edu. We look forward to seeing you in Toronto.
