    Calling for Participants: Survey of Perspectives on Therapeutic Gaming

    My name is Michie Leccese and I am a PhD student at the University of Southern California. I also hold a role as a research assistant in the Annenberg Game Lab.

    I am conducting a research study on the perceptions of using video games in a therapeutic setting. The name of this research study is "Therapeutic Gaming: Exploring Perspectives on Video Games as Treatment Tools through Survey and Interviews of Clinicians, Clients, and Game Developers" I am seeking your participation in this study.

    Your participation is completely voluntary, and I will address your questions or concerns at any point before or during the study.

    You may be eligible to participate in this study if you meet the following criteria:

    1.     Are a licensed or certified clinician or therapist with a specialization or experience in fields such as psychology, psychiatry, counseling, or occupational therapy

    2.     OR are an individual who has received and/or currently receiving therapy or treatment for mental health or behavioral issues

    3.     OR a Game developer involved in the creation of video games. (This may include designers, developers, producers, etc. within the gaming industry)

    4.     You are over 18 years old.

    If you decide to participate in this study, you will be asked to do the following activities:

    1.     Complete an online survey about your perceptions and experience with video games, therapeutic practices, and mental health.

    I will publish the results in my thesis, a presentation, and/or publication. Participants will not be identified in the results. I will take reasonable measures to protect the security of all your personal information. All data will be de-identified prior to any publication or presentations. I may share your data, de-identified with other researchers in the future.
