Dear Colleagues,
I would like to draw your attention to the workshop that my colleagues and I are organizing at the upcoming ICA conference in Denver.
June 14th Saturday, 10:30 AM, Mt. Yale (Grand 3)
ICA BlueSky Workshop: Consolidating communication research through causal inference
The societal impact of communication has motivated the development of the field. Yet establishing causality within the field remains challenging, especially in technologically mediated contexts. Communication is a diverse field, and causal interpretations vary across traditions. This workshop will explore how different subfields of communication address causality, emphasizing the need for causal explanations to enhance theory building. It will also discuss methodological approaches, challenges, and future directions for establishing causality in communication research.
