Calls for Papers
We are delighted to invite you to the 74th Annual International Communication Association Conference in Gold Coast, Australia, from 20-24 June 2024. The calls for papers for Divisions, Interest Groups, and the Theme are now available; the submission site opens 1 September.
The purpose of this year's theme, Communication and Global Human Rights is threefold: to take stock of the contributions of communication scholarship to the study of human rights; to foreground current research and practice; and to outline promising directions for communication studies.
PLEASE NOTE: It is very important that you read each Division and Interest Group call carefully. Where there is a difference between Section requirements and ICA guidelines, the ICA guidelines will take precedence. If you have any questions regarding a call for papers, please contact the specific Div/IG Planner. The submission management system will be open from 1 September to 1 November @ 12:00 (noon) ICA headquarters time (EDT)
Pre-/postconference Proposal Form
The pre-/postconference proposal form for the 74th Annual ICA Conference will close this week on 23 August. Please fill out the form to the best of your ability with the information you currently have. Feel free to provide as much detail as needed for each section. Please make your application as complete as possible, but we do understand if certain details, such as your location or the names of some of the speakers, are not yet confirmed. Proposals are due Wednesday, 23 August @ 12:00 (noon) ICA headquarters time (EDT).
We strongly recommend that you read the entire guide BEFORE you start to complete the form. This form will not save your progress, so make sure you have all the answers you need before you start.
