Media and Communication studies is now a global endeavour. The field continues to expand in the West, and universities across Asia, Africa, and Latin America have launched or expanded their programs in this subject over the past two decades. This preconference will bring together scholars from institutions based in the Global South to discuss and historicize the formation of the field and collectively produce a critical, global account of media and communication education.
